Chirpsounds – Bringing the Sounds of the Outdoors In!
Because birds should be seen AND heard
Chirpsounds was selected to compete in the Penn State Lion Cage event, which was held Saturday, November 10th. This event was set up a bit like Shark Tank, with 12 project ideas pitched to 6 judges. When the scores were tallied, Chirpsounds was awarded 3rd place! We’re so darn excited and proud because this is the first public recognition of what we’re trying to bring to market.
The State of Things
This has been quite an education, and I now fully understand why it’s often said that, “hardware is hard.” To give you a taste of the progress being made on many fronts, I’m happy to be able to give you a peek at a computer rendering of the transmitter design:
There are four (4) parallel tracks being worked on by my development engineers, and several more that I’m pursuing. If all goes well, we will probably be ready to start taking orders for these in Q2 of next year.
Looking Ahead / What’s Next
We are planning to introduce these in an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign. The success of these campaigns depends largely on coming out of the gate with strong sales right away. When a campaign shows rapid initial sales, its trajectory gets it noticed and it may even be promoted by Indiegogo in their newsletters, adding more fuel to the fire. This is where you can help. Please spread the word far and wide to everyone you know, whether you think they would like a Chirpsounds device or not. They may know someone who would. Please direct interested parties to sign up for updates at Chirpsounds.com. Keep in mind that the earliest supporters of the campaign will score some pretty decent but quantity-limited discounts, and those of you who have been following this project for a long time deserve the best deal!
Well, that’s all for right now. I will try to get updates out to you more frequently going forward. I wish you a peaceful and joyous holiday season!
